Air Vice Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu
Adesola Nunayon Amosu CFR DSSM DSS fwc psc (born 1 August 1958) is a retired Air Marshal of the Nigerian Air Force who served as the 19th Chief of the Air Staff of Nigeria.
Early Life
Adesola Amosu was born on 1 August 1958 in Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria.
He completed his primary education at Ladilak Primary School in Lagos and proceeded to Apostolic Grammar School, where he obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.
He joined the Nigerian Air Force through the Nigerian Defence Academy, as part of the 25 Regular Course on 3 January 1979 and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer on 3 July 1981.
Amosu furthered his education at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji and the National War College, Nigeria. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan.
Air Force Career
Amosu began his pilot training at the 301 Flying Training School, Kaduna, and continued at the 303 Flying Training School, Kano. After completing training, he was posted to the 99 Air Combat Training Group, Kainji, where he was type-rated on the Alpha-Jet aircraft.
He was promoted to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal on 3 July 2010 and was decorated by the then President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
